The Harstone Road, Blaikie Road and Diana Road are now open. Roads have sustained damage due to the recent flooding, however they are all open. Drivers are urged to use caution as the roads are still in rough condition in some areas.
A set of keys were found on Tuesday, June 30 at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Highway 595, at the Cedar Creek crossing. (by the bump in the dip by the Baptist Church).
If anyone has lost a set of keys please contact the Township of O'Connor office at 476-1451 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to make arrangements to pick them up.
DISPOSAL SITE HOURS - EXTENDED ON SATURDAYS
During the months of June, July, August and September the disposal site will be open on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. This will be on a trial basis to allow residents to get their summer weekends started earlier. Let us know what you think. Does this work better for you?

UPCOMING COUNCIL MEETINGS
The next meetings of the Council will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
An O'Connor Day Planning Meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 7 p.m.
All meetings are held in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Office located at 330 Hwy. 595. Council welcome your involvement and interest in Council meetings. Agenda's are posted on the website under Municipal Information.
Service Ontario Launches Not-For-Profit
Ontario has launched a new section for not-for-profits in Ontario making it
faster and easier for organizations to get the services and information they
need to start, operate and grow their NFPs. The new site features
information on government open call programs for funding, ideas on how to start
and manage a not-for-profit organization, a section to help organizations
understand the laws that affect the sector, research about the sector,
government initiatives that support the sector, and much more. Please follow

The O'Connor Community Centre
The O'Connor Community Centre is available for rentals with the basement kitchen and main level renovations, including a new accessible platform lift. With reasonable rental rates the Community Centre is waiting for you. To book your event please call the Township of O'Connor office at 476-1451.
If you would like to rent the Community Centre for an event and someone attending may need to use the platform lift you or someone you appoint must be trained on its operation.

The Township of O'Connor retained GENIVAR to assist with the development of a comprehensive asset management plan that the Township can utilize as a tool to assist with decisions regarding the building, operating, maintaining, renewing, replacing, disposing and funding of their bridges, roads, culverts, buildings, helipad, road maintenance and recycling equipment, and vehicles.

O'Connor Community Centre Renovations
The O'Connor Community Centre has received some new and exciting changes. To start, the basement kitchen has been revitalized with the installation of a new kitchen exhaust hood and fan, a wet chemical system for fire suppression, a direct fired make-up air system, a new stove, deepfryer and lighting. The Centre has also received a new coat of paint to freshen it up, a dishwasher has been installed in the upstairs kitchen and some new appliances and cupboards have been purchased. Thank you to the
Ontario Trillium Foundation and the
Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF) for their contribution towards these renovations.
Thank you to all who have also attended or supported the recent Community Centre renovations fundraising events hosted by the O'Connor Community Club and Fire Department. Thank you also to the O'Connor Women's Institute and Thunder Bay Ventures for their donations.
