Accessible Lift

The O'Connor Community Centre now has a new vertical platform lift available for use by persons with disabilities. TSSA has done its final testing on the lift and has given the Township the go ahead to use it as of October 27, 2014.  The lift has access from the main entrance of the building to both the main floor community centre or the basement area. The lift is designed to be operated by an attendant who can be called, when required, by pressing the doorbell button by the lift door.   A trained attendant will be available to open the door and take you to where you want to go.   For anyone renting the hall for their special event training on the operation of the lift will be provided.

The Township of O'Connor was successful in its application to Enabling Accessibility Fund - Small Project Component from the Ministry of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) for a portion of this Community Centre Accessibility Project.

Thank you also to everyone who attended or supported the fundraising events held by the O'Connor Community Club and Fire Department Auxiliary to help offset the costs for this renovation.
