New Municipal Office
The new municipal office is located on the same lot as our old one and the community centre at 330 Highway 595. It is completely accessible and has a Council chambers in the back. If you are attending a Council meeting please use the back entrance to the building.
Thank you to the staff of K.A.Vanderzwaag and J. Wilkins Disaster Kleenup for the great job they have done. Also to Jeremiah Gammond for the beautiful design and for keeping everything running smoothly and on track.
At the special meeting of Council on October 21, 2009, Council awarded K.A Vanderzwaag Construction Inc. with the contract to build the New Municipal Office and Council Chamber. Two thirds of the funding for our new building was provided through the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, through both the Federal and Provincial government. A portion of the Township's one third share was also covered through the Investing in Ontario monies that was given to municipalities in 2008 .
A grand opening for the new building has been set for Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 2 p.m., followed by our O'Connor Day celebrations at 3 p.m. Hope everyone can come out a take a peak at our wonderful facilities. |
