We would like to ask that residents make sure that they bring their disposal site permits with them when they attend the site. You must be a resident of the Township to dump your garbage at the site. Thank you.
The Disposal Site is currently running on Summer Hours. The dump is open Tuesdays from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The use of the site is for O’Connor residents only.
The recycle bins have two compartments only. Not as much sorting. Paper and Cardboard go on one side and the other recyclable containers will go on the other. These include plastics 1 & 2, tetra and tin cans. Pop cans are also accepted however we encourage you to please drop them off in the O’Connor Fire Department bin, either at the Disposal Site or the Fire Hall. Glass will continue to go into the separate hole. A waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) depot has also been setup for you to drop off your TV’s, computer screens, computers, laptops, computer peripheral (keyboards, mice) printers, telephones, answering machines, pagers, cellphones, speakers and audio/visual equipment. Tires are also accepted free of charge in the designated areas. We are also accepting freezers and fridges at no charge in the designated area, however we ask that you please remove the doors and lids from the units for safety reasons.

Please remember to recycle!! and please flatten that cardboard. Thank You!
In an effort to reduce waste and create a cleaner and greener environment for O’Connor Township and its Disposal Site, we have created a hazardous waste diversion list to help inform the residents of what is considered hazardous waste and possible places where the waste can be diverted to.
Please be cautious of what you throw in your everyday garbage. Look at what you’re throwing out. If the container or item has any type of hazard symbol, it is a hazardous waste and must be disposed of properly. Doing this will not only reduce waste at our landfill, but will also keep O’Connor’s air, water and soil clean.
Please keep all your hazardous waste in its original container and never mix hazardous wastes together.
For any further questions on how to dispose of your hazardous waste properly or for items not listed, or to add hazardous waste sites to the list, please call the Township office at 476-1451 or ask our Disposal Site Caretaker.
