PLEASE NOTE:  The Township of O’Connor supports a mask friendly workplace.  However, masks are not required to be worn.  If you are not comfortable coming into the office, with or without a mask, or if you have mobility issues, please honk your car horn and someone will come out to assist you.

ELECTION DAY:  Monday, October 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

ADVANCED VOTE:  Tuesday, October 18th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

LOCATION FOR VOTING DAYS: Council Chambers, 330 Highway 595.  Please use the back door of the Municipal Office to enter.

The 2022 Municipal Election will be held Monday, October 24th.  Learn more about Municipal Elections through our educational resources, the Election Accessibility Plan and the rules that govern our processes.

Please make sure that you are on the voters list by going to www.voterlookup.ca  Eligible electors can:

  • confirm or update their electoral information;
  • add an elector name to an address; and,
  • change school support for the purpose of voting in a school board election.

If you are a resident, owner or tenant of property in Ontario, a Canadian citizen and 18 years of age you can vote in Ontario’s Municipal and School Board Elections.  We all play a role in ensuring a fair electoral system, and it is the responsibility of every elector to make sure their information is up-to-date and accurately reflected for electoral purposes.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO RUN FOR COUNCIL? Nominations CLOSED.

Nominations open on Monday, May 2nd with Nomination Day on Friday, August 19th.  All Candidates must:

  • be a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old,
  • be a resident of the municipality or a non-resident owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such non-resident owner or tenant,
  • not legally prohibited from voting; and not disqualified by any legislation from holding municipal office,
  • pay a nomination fee of $100 for Councillor or $200 for Mayor, refundable if you receive 2% of the votes cast in the election.
